UTM won Pitching Award in Asia Pacific (ARTTs) Challenge 2015 in Singapore

26th  – 27th March 2015, Singapore EXPO. Team from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) won Pitching Award in Asia Pacific Assistive, Rehabilitative and Therapeutic Technologies (ARTTs) Challenge 2015 organised by Asia Pacific APARTT. This event was supported by 30 organisations from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Ireland, United States and Hong Kong such as Star Hub, IDA Labs, Enable Ireland, etc. There were a total of 38 participants team from South East Asia countries. 

UTM team comprises three 2nd year Electrical-Electronic Undergraduate at Faculty of Electrical Engineering namely Mr Yong Bang Xiang, Mr Yeang Meng Hern and Miss Tan Chu Wei. The team supervised by Dr Yeong Che Fai from CAIRO UTM. The idea title is ‘Durian Runtuh: Virtual Rehabilitation System for Stroke Rehabilitation Exercise’. The system enables stroke patients to practice rehabilitation exercises with graphical and audio motivation as well as an objective assessment of their recovery performance. This project is conducted in close collaboration with National Stroke Association of Malaysia (NASAM) and are commercialized by UTM Spin-off company Techcare Innovation Sdn Bhd (www.cr2connect.com). The team is grateful to Centre of Student Innovation (CSI), UTM to support the team in participating this event. The team receives certificate of award.
